Reading comprehension Text

How to use the reading trainer effectively

This exercise trains your ability to read short texts and understand the context without translating every word immediately.

The goal is to build language intuition, decoding skills and confidence when reading real text.

📖 Read first without help

Start by reading the whole text at a calm pace.

You do not need to understand every word. Try to understand the situation: who is involved, what happens and why.

🧠 Guess from context

Good reading comprehension often means daring to make smart guesses.

Use words you already recognize, names, places, tone and the sequence of events to understand the rest.

👀 Show translation when you want to check

The Show translation button is not cheating.

It helps you compare your own understanding with the meaning of the text.

❓ Use Help to decode details

When you press Help, important words and phrases are marked with a dotted underline.

Click a marked part to get a short explanation of that exact detail.

Help can explain:

  • vocabulary
  • verb forms
  • expressions and chunks
  • small grammar keys
  • things that are easy to misunderstand
